Kong Qingfu, born in 1943, graduated from Nanjing Normal University in 1967. He is currently a special calligrapher of the Confucius Institute in China, a special caller of the Chinese Art Network, and a vice president of the Chinese Confucianism Bookstore.
He liked calligraphy since he was a child. He first studied with his father, and later learned the calligraphy from Wu Zhongqi. He learned the essentials of the calligraphers of the Wei and Jin Dynasties and Han,Tang dynasties, especially good at cursive. He has won numerous municipal, provincial and national awards and has been invited to participate in many foreign cultural exchange activities. His works have been collected by groups and individuals from the United States, South Korea, Australia, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong and other countries and regions, and he has been awarded the "Artist of the Year". His calligraphy works are always very characteristic, and they can always touch people's hearts. It is a perfect combination of calligraphy and words.
Kong Qingfu was also invited to give lectures on the significance of calligraphy to old aged people. For him, age growth does not mean stopping his artistic pursuit, nor does it mean that the elderly can only watch TV at home and live a dull old life. He believes that his age only make him love his life and his hobbies deeply.
